Moisture Wicking Sheets and Linen Sprays

Perfect Linens’ No Sweat! Cool Sheet Set (Queen)Along with investing in my bamboo cooling mattress pad, I’ve also bought 3 sets of moisture wicking sheets in various sizes so that even my guests can enjoy a comfortable, cool sleep. And, even though I suffer night sweats and hot flashes still, I’m no longer wake in a puddle of sweat.

Moisture Wicking Sheets Soak Up Moisture

Moisture wicking sheets work by pulling the moisture away from your body – you may still sweat (and you will….), but, you won’t wake up in a pile of damp, wrinkled sheets. These sheets provide additional comfort for everyone but especially for those of us who sleep hot.

Interestingly, while my elderly Mom lived with me, these moisture wicking sheets kept her warm in the winter. I’m not sure how that works as they’ve always kept me cool and dry at night. But, it was a nice side benefit of buying these sheets.

One Thing To Be Aware Of When Washing Moisture Wicking Sheets

One thing to remember: moisture wicking sheets need to be washed in hot water on the delicate cycle due to the type of material from which they are made.

Also, don’t use fabric softener as it can affect the moisture wicking properties (and, hence, the cooling ability) of moisture wicking sheets. Luckily, these sheets are incredibly soft so they don’t need fabric softener.

Moisture Wicking Pillowcases

I don’t know about you but I always travel with a moisture wicking pillowcase everywhere I go. And, I use a little trick – I buy one set of pillowcases in a strange color or pattern (see the first link below) so these pillowcases are always easily identified. I never forget them!

And, as promised, here are a few very nice, lightly-scented linen sprays. Just a spray or two on your moisture wicking bedsheets will give them a lovely scent. My favorites are the lavender followed by the rose linen sprays:
