What’s A Hot Flash Cooling Pillow?
I had never even heard of hot flash cooling pillows until my doctor suggested one as a relief from night sweats and hot flashes. I was loathe to buy yet another pillow as I’m very picky when it comes to pillows. To date, my bed is home to at least 8 different pillows. The last thing I needed was to add a hot flash cooling pillow to the mess. Ah, but I was SO wrong. The hot flash cooling pillow was (and is) the very first pillow I grab when I lay down my sleepy head.
There are a few different types of hot flash pillows on the market. Some worked for me, and some didn’t. For example, the type of hot flash cooling pillow that you fill with water was horrible in my opinion. It was so horrible that my dog now uses it as a bed. As far as I can tell, she’s happy with the thing, but I actually found that, instead of providing cooling relief from hot flashes, this type of pillow made me sweat more! It didn’t hold the cool very long and, instead, seemed to suck up the hot exuding from my body. You won’t find this type of pillow on this page I hated it!
So, I moved onto trying other cooling pillows to help with my night sweats and hot flashes. I even tried a cooling leg pillow which, surprisingly, worked pretty well.

What I like most about this particular cooling pillow is that it has 2 distinctive sides – I use the gel side during the warmer months or when I feel a hot flash coming on. Flipping the pillow over gives a nice insulating effect for a cooler night. It’s down alternative filling is plump yet pliable – just the way I like my pillows.
