Jelly BeadZ® Cooling Neck Scarf Bandana -Solid Pink
I first found cooling scarfs when I was on a business trip to Bangkok, Thailand – it was not only hot over there but steamy as well. This was weather in which, even pre-menopausal, I was miserable.
I happened to see a roadside stand and stopped in to see the Thai wares. I was incredibly happy when the proprietor took a scarf off the rack, dipped it in a pot of fresh room temperature (ie, hot!) water and put it on my neck. It was cool! It was relief, it was instant relief, at that. Since that day, I’m rarely without my cooling scarves.
Cooling scarfs have little polymer crystal beads in them that absorb the water as the cooling scarf is dipped in water. They turn into a soft feel inside the scarf so these cooling scarves are very comfortable to wear. As the scarf temperature adapts to my own hot self, I just take it off, swing it around in the air to cool it and reapply it to my neck. In this fashion, I’ve survived over 100 degree weather on the boat on the Chesapeake bay, a convertible without a top in Tucson, AZ (in July, no less!), and a myriad of other hot situations.
A nice bonus to a cooling scarf is that it’s very easy to pack. As it dries, it shrinks back down and folds very nicely. They’re incredibly portable.
